AKARNANIA. Leukas. Circa 470-450 BC. Stater (Silver, 18 mm, 8.47 g, 10 h). Pegasos flying left, bridled and with curved wings; below, Λ. Rev. Head of Athena to right, wearing Corinthian helmet without neck guard and pearl necklace; all within incuse square. BCD Akarnania -. Calciati 12. HGC 4, 811. SNG Copenhagen 327. Nicely toned and of lovely early Classical style. Struck from a slightly worn obverse die and with minor marks, otherwise, very fine.
